T8A pins are used to manufacture various transmission mechanisms of electrical appliances and have high requirements in terms of wear resistance and strength. The hardness requirement of T8A after quenching and tempering is 43-48HRC, and the surface is smooth and free of defects such as cracks. In order to meet the above technical requirements, many manufacturers use medium frequency induction heating machines for heat treatment, with good results.
T8A is eutectoid steel with poor hardenability. In order to obtain the required hardness, double-liquid quenching treatment (water quenching with strong cooling capacity and air cooling or oil cooling) should be used to ensure uniform cooling of the pin. The pin should be inserted into the drilled hanging plate to complete heating and cooling. The specific heat treatment process specifications are: use a medium frequency induction heating machine to heat, the heating temperature is 835-845°C, and then quench into 10% sodium chloride aqueous solution to cool for 3-4 seconds, and then provide air cooling. The hardness after quenching is 53-57HRC. When the pin is air-cooled to about 80°C, it should be tempered. The tempering is also carried out with a medium frequency heating machine. The temperature is 375-395°C. After the heat preservation is completed, it is air-cooled. The hardness is qualified and there are no defects such as cracks.
Many manufacturers use the above process for heat treatment, and the T8A pins produced are of good quality, with greatly improved hardness and wear resistance, meeting the needs of the work. What's even better is that this process is suitable for large-scale production and can greatly improve workers' production efficiency.
