Process analysis of heat treatment of machine tool spindle box gear using 100kw medium frequency induction heating power supply

The material of the machine tool spindle box gear is 40Cr steel. Heat treatment technical requirements: quenching and tempering hardness is 250-280HBW, and the hardness of the tooth after medium frequency induction quenching and tempering is 52-57HRC. Requirements for machining: The inner hole is processed to φ80mm before medium frequency induction quenching.

(1) Process flow. Cutting, quenching and tempering, mechanical processing, quenching, tempering, inspection and storage.

(2) Heat treatment process

1) Conditioning. It is carried out using a 100kw medium frequency induction heating power supply. The quenching heating temperature is 840-860℃, quenching oil after insulation; the tempering heating temperature is 560-600℃, air cooling after insulation, and the hardness is 250-280HBW.

2) Medium frequency induction hardening. Using 100kw medium frequency induction heating power supply, the sensor size is φ184mm (inner diameter) x47mm (height). The process parameters of gear medium frequency induction quenching are shown in the table below:

3) Refire. Heating temperature: 180-200℃.

(3) Hole result: Hardness of the hole is 52-54HRC, inner hole hardness ≤30HRC.
