The ball screw is composed of a screw, a nut and a ball. Its function is to convert the rotary motion into a linear motion. Ball screw induction hardening machine tools generally have a horizontal structure, because the screw is 5-6m long. If it is vertical, even if it is moved with a transformer and an inductor, its operation is still very inconvenient. The ball screw induction hardening machine tool adopts the thyristor intermediate frequency power supply, which has two levels of power and frequency, namely 160kW/10kHz and 50kW/30kHz. The former is used for the screw with a thicker diameter, and the latter is used for the screw with a thinner diameter. The longest is 6m.
The key technology of ball screw induction hardening is to control its deformation. Deformation has two aspects: the first is bending deformation, which is a problem encountered by slender workpieces; the second is elongation deformation, and for ball screws, it is the elongation and shortening of its pitch. If the thread pitch elongates too much after quenching, as the length of the lead screw increases, the cumulative elongation exceeds a certain value, and the pitch size exceeds the tolerance, and the lead screw will be scrapped.
Some measures have been taken in the design of this CNC quenching machine tool: ① Scanning and quenching is carried out by straddling the lead screw with spaced positioning blocks. Since the positioning block straddles the lead screw tightly, an equal gap is maintained, and the lead screw rotates for heating. Make the heating even; ②The deformation-limiting roller supporting the lead screw is installed to reduce the bending deformation. ③Using a half-ring inductor, its current has a longitudinal part in addition to the circumferential current, so that both the top and the bottom of the thread can be heated.
This CNC hardening machine is characterized by length correction. The tempering of the ball screw is also carried out on this machine, using the return stroke for tempering. After tempering, it is cooled again on the machine tool to complete the heat treatment process. The power supply of the ball screw induction hardening machine tool has now been developed into three frequencies, and there are more appropriate choices for the screw with different diameters.
