As we all know, the medium frequency induction heating machines currently popular in the market are generally composed of two parts: the host and the transformer, but people know very little about the transformer. The intermediate frequency quenching transformer is referred to as the intermediate frequency transformer, also known as the matching transformer. Its schematic diagram is that the transformer is a device that transforms the AC voltage, current and impedance. When the primary coil has an AC current, the iron core (or core) will generate AC. Magnetic flux, which induces a voltage (or current) in the secondary coil. The transformer consists of an iron core (or magnetic core) and a coil. The coil has two or more windings. The winding connected to the power supply is called the primary coil, and the remaining windings are called the secondary coil.

The main function of the intermediate frequency quenching transformer is to step down the voltage, so that the parameters of the inductor match the parameters of the intermediate frequency induction heating machine. In order to reduce the loss of intermediate frequency line components, the output voltage of the intermediate frequency power supply is between 375 and 1500v, and now the voltage of 650V and 750V is mostly used. The inductor voltage used in the quenching device is usually between 7-100V due to the different structure, and 8-80V is more commonly used for 100kW intermediate frequency power supply. For example, the voltage required by the crankshaft half-toroidal inductor is often 65-80V at 8-10kHz.

The intermediate frequency transformer is used for large impedance inductors, and the secondary winding of 2 turns or 3 turns is commonly used. If the impedance is higher, the intermediate frequency autotransformer or the inductor is directly connected to the intermediate frequency power supply. This inductor is often a large diameter multi-turn transformer.

(2) Main parameters and requirements of intermediate frequency transformers

The technical requirements for intermediate frequency transformers are generally: stable and reliable performance, convenient operation, small structure, low loss and reasonable price. In addition, there are two special requirements:

1) It is convenient to change the transformation coefficient.

2) Small short-circuit impedance (this is necessary to reduce the instability of the heating specification, which will occur in the case of a small deformation of the transformer, which will affect the size of the short-circuit impedance).

(3) Design, function and efficiency of medium frequency induction heating machine transformer

1) It has a multi-turn-ratio outer core-shaped magnetic conductor structure with a disc-shaped primary winding. Its transformation ratio can be adjusted by changing the distribution board, and the number of turns of its primary winding ranges from 10 to 34 turns. The secondary winding is connected as 2 turns or 1 turn through the inductor connecting plate. Its main advantage is that it can be adapted to the requirements of different sensor parameters through adjustment.

2) The thin intermediate frequency transformer is mainly designed for the crankshaft quenching machine tool. It is characterized by a thin width and a thickness of only 62mm, which can meet the requirement that multiple transformers must be installed due to the short distance between the main journal and the connecting rod journal.

3) It has a cylindrical primary winding and an outer core-type magnetizer (shell type) structure with a fixed transformation ratio. Its primary winding has a fixed number of turns, which is suitable for fixed products of special quenching machines, such as special crankshaft quenching machine tools, camshafts, automotive flywheel ring gear and other special machine tools. Its advantages are simple structure and convenient maintenance.
