Inductors also need maintenance like high-frequency induction heating equipment. The service life of the inductor is closely related to the use and maintenance. The semi-annular crankshaft inductor is expensive, so the use and maintenance has great economic significance. Generally for mass production, it is best to have three sets of sensors, one set for production use, one set for maintenance in the maintenance team, and one set for backup in the tool library. Let’s talk about how to increase the service life of the sensor.

In addition to design, the main factors related to the service life of the sensor are as follows:

(1) Correct installation

1) The contact plate or contact flange, whether it is bolt L, cam, or hydraulic pressure, must be tightly attached to the output end of the quenching transformer. Both contact surfaces must be clean and free of scale, and more than 60% of the area should be in good fit.

2) The gap between the effective circle and the workpiece must reach the specified value to avoid short circuits, burns, etc. Therefore, the axis center of the effective ring and the axis center of the workpiece must be as concentric as possible, and the relevant positioning blocks, plates and workpieces must maintain parallel or vertical positions.

(2) The workpieces to be quenched and heated should meet the workpiece size and cleanliness requirements. No residual iron filings are allowed on the quenched surface of the workpiece. The size and positioning surface of the quenched surface of the workpiece (such as the center hole, shaft end face, etc.) must meet the process requirements, otherwise the sensor will be damaged.

(3) Clean and wipe the effective ring working surface in time. In particular, the side of the magnetic conductor will absorb a lot of iron powder and oil stains, which will form a hard shell.

(4) Regularly check the effective circle size. Check regularly with molds, etc., and make timely corrections if any deviations are found.

(5) The outlet water temperature of the effective ring with a large current carrying capacity should be checked regularly. The maximum outlet water temperature should not exceed 70°C and the temperature rise should preferably be <25°C.
