When using medium frequency induction heating equipment to heat treat welds, there are many factors that affect the heat treatment effect, such as heat treatment process, alignment device, room temperature, etc. The accuracy of the positioning of the main heating coil and the center of the weld is directly related to the heat treatment quality of the weld. Once the heating deviates from the center of the weld, it will affect the heat treatment effect of the weld, which shows the important role of the weld heating alignment device. Weld seam heating alignment devices can be divided into two types: mechanical manual operation and automatic tracking. Today, the editor will briefly talk about the mechanical weld heating alignment device.
The mechanical weld seam alignment device consists of three parts: a weld seam heating system, a spacing adjustment mechanism between the weld seam and the heating coil, and a mechanism for moving the weld seam along the left and right sides. The mechanical weld seam heating alignment device is suitable for offline weld seam normalizing (annealing) treatment.
The adjustment operation process of the mechanical weld seam alignment device is as follows:
(1) Adjustment of the distance between the heating coil and the welding seam. The main and auxiliary coils of the inductor are installed in the inductor box, and the main coil is outside the box. When adjusting the heating spacing, the electric screw is used to adjust the rise and fall. When replacing welded pipes with different diameters, the hydraulic cylinder can be used to adjust the rise and fall significantly.
(2) The main coil is adjusted along the left and right sides of the weld. Two infrared thermometers are installed in the sensor box to measure the heating temperature at the left and right boundaries of the weld, amplify the temperature signal, and then transmit it to the PID regulator. After calculation, it is given The command causes the motor to move. The motor moves the cam left and right through a mechanical device, controls the relay and connects the contactor, thereby causing the motor to rotate forward or reverse, so that the heating coil moves left and right along both sides of the weld to achieve the purpose of aligning the heating of the weld.
To heat treat the welds, did you use an alignment device? If not, for the sake of weld heat treatment effect, I suggest you use it, especially for offline weld heat treatment of large welded pipes.
