Balance shaft forgings are heat treated using medium frequency heating power. There are many factors that affect its effect, such as heat treatment process, equipment, surrounding environment, etc. Among these factors, the more important one is the process. Therefore, it is very important to master the heat treatment process of balance shaft forgings.
1. Production process
Blanking - medium frequency induction heating (heating temperature 1100℃±10℃) - roll forging - die forging, trimming - heat correction - residual heat quenching - spot check of hardness - tempering - 99% hardness check - check of metallographic structure and mechanical properties One shot blasting, one 99% flaw detection and one painting.
2. Forging waste heat quenching heat treatment process
(1) Heating temperature: In order to obtain the strengthening and toughening effect of high-temperature deformation forging residual heat quenching, the balance shaft blank is forged and heated using a medium-frequency induction heating power supply, and the temperature is adjusted from the original 1150℃-1180℃ to 1100℃±10℃.
(2) Quenching temperature: Control the residence time after forging to before quenching and cooling within 40 seconds. Use an infrared thermometer to measure the temperature before entering the quenching liquid to 780°C-820°C. Control the temperature of the quenching solution at 30°C-40°C. ℃, and adjust and control the stirring intensity during the entire cooling stage after the workpiece enters the liquid. That is, within 1 minute after the workpiece enters the liquid, use high stirring intensity, then use slow stirring, and lift the workpiece out of the quenching liquid after 6 minutes to 8 minutes.
(3) Tempering temperature: 30°C higher than the conventional tempering and tempering temperature, that is, 630°C ± 10°C, and the tempering time is 3.5h-4h.
Many manufacturers use the above process for heat treatment, and the balance shaft forgings produced meet the technical requirements. What's even better is that this process is suitable for large-scale production and can greatly improve workers' production efficiency.
