The gas-cut edge of the steel plate tempering by medium frequency heating power supply

The edge hardness of the alloy steel plate after gas cutting is very high, making it difficult to machine. Therefore, high-temperature tempering is required before mechanical processing to reduce the edge hardness of the steel plate. The original method of tempering in the furnace had various shortcomings. Therefore, a medium frequency induction heating power supply was used for heat treatment, and the effect was good.

Tempering the steel handle in the furnace after gas cutting is to heat the entire steel plate to a tempering temperature of about 680°C. After tempering, it is placed in the air to cool naturally. A large amount of heat is lost in the workshop, which increases the temperature of the workshop and affects the working conditions. Very poor. The medium-frequency induction heating power supply is used to heat the gas-cut edge portion of the steel plate, which not only saves heat energy but also improves the working conditions in the workshop.

The edge of the steel plate is placed in the air gap of the magnetic circuit. The magnetic field lines pass vertically through the edge of the steel plate, generating an induced current in the steel plate and heating the edge of the steel plate. After testing, the edge of the steel plate is heated to about 730°C, and the hardness is reduced to about 22RC. The distribution of hardness corresponds to the heating temperature. The edge has the highest temperature and the lowest hardness. The hardness increases from the edge inwards, which can fully meet the requirements of mechanical processing.
