Process analysis of heat treatment of T4163 single-column coordinate boring machine inlaid steel guide rail using medium frequency induction heating machine

In order to improve the positioning accuracy of the machine tool and reduce the transmission resistance, rolling guide rails are often used in CNC machine tools and grinding machines to make the machine tool transmission and feeding system more portable and responsive. With the wide application of rolling guide rails, cast iron guide rails can no longer adapt to rolling point or line contact fatigue loads, and now more inlaid steel guide rails are used. During the working process, the steel-inlaid guide rail has to withstand huge friction. Therefore, we often use medium frequency heating K to heat treat it, and the effect is very good. Today, we will take the T4163 single-column coordinate boring machine inlaid steel guide rail as an example to briefly introduce its heat treatment process.

The material used for the steel-inlaid guide rail of the T4163 single-column coordinate boring machine is 20Cr steel. The heat treatment process using a medium-frequency induction heating machine is introduced as follows:

1. Annealing. The heating temperature is about 830°C, the holding time is 2 to 4 hours, and the furnace is cooled to below 500°C and air-cooled.

2. Stress relief annealing. A medium frequency induction heating machine is used for stress relief annealing heat treatment. The annealing heating temperature is 600~620℃, and the temperature is kept for 4 hours. When the furnace is cooled to below 350℃, it is air-cooled. After stress relief annealing, the flatness of the workpiece should be <0.1mm.

3. Quenching + low temperature tempering. In order to minimize the quenching deformation of the workpiece, the primary quenching method of preheating and martensitic graded quenching is used. That is, the workpiece is first heated to about 550°C for 50-60 minutes, and then quenched into a nitrate furnace at 200°C for cooling. After the internal and external temperature of the workpiece is uniform, it can be air-cooled; (temperature should be controlled at around 160℃), cook in medium oil and keep warm for a period of time.

The martensite graded quenching method is suitable for precision workpieces that can withstand certain impact loads and require high hardness and small deformation. Its operation should pay attention to: 1), the quenching heating temperature can generally adopt the heating temperature of ordinary quenching, and the heating temperature of the workpiece with poor hardenability and slightly larger effective cross-section is allowed to increase by 10-15 °C; 2), the cooling medium used, Depends on steel grade.

Steel-inlaid guide rails are widely used, so it is very important to master their heat treatment process. This article briefly introduces the heat treatment process of the steel guide rail of the T4163 single-column jig boring machine. After many manufacturers adopt the above-mentioned process, the workpieces produced are of good quality and the hardness meets the requirements.
