Process analysis of heat treatment of machine tool elastic sleeve using medium frequency induction heating power supply

During automatic machine tool processing, its feeding is clamped by elastic sleeves and feeding chucks. The elastic sleeve material is 60Si2Mn steel. Heat treatment technical requirements: hardness after overall quenching and tempering is 52-56HRC. In order to meet the needs of work, many manufacturers use medium frequency induction heating power for heat treatment, with good results.

(1) Process flow

Preparing materials: Turning the full shape (reserve grinding allowance for the outer circle): Marking and drilling 8 small holes with a diameter of φ4mm, deburring and marking; Milling 8 slots with a width of 2mm (each slot is pre-cut) Leave a 3mm connection amount) - quenching - stress relief treatment - grinding the outer circle - removing the connection amount of each notch and shrinking the clamping mouth at both ends, shaping treatment and final tempering - sand blasting - finished product.

(2) Heat treatment process

1) Quenching. Use medium frequency induction heating power supply for heating, the heating temperature is 880-900℃, after thorough burning, cool it in a hot alkali bath at 120℃ for 2.5-3 minutes, then take it out and cool it to room temperature in the air. In order to reduce the distortion of the three-petal claw during quenching, the clamping port is not milled before quenching. In order to prevent quenching cracks from occurring in elliptical apertures or areas with sudden cross-sectional changes, the method of cooling in a hot bath after quenching heating is adopted.

2) Stress relief treatment. It is heated by medium frequency induction heating power supply. The heating temperature is 260-280°C. It is kept warm for 1-1.5 hours and then air-cooled. In order to reduce the influence of grinding stress on distortion, low-temperature tempering to eliminate grinding stress is performed before opening.

3) Shaping treatment and final tempering. Bind both ends with iron wire and clamp the notch to the technical required size. Use medium frequency induction heating power supply to temper. The heating temperature is 360-380°C. Keep it warm for 2.5-3 hours and then air-cool.

(3) The inspection results show that the overall hardness is 52-54HRC, and the dimensions of the clamping openings at both ends are qualified.

Due to the above-mentioned manufacturing process, the production quality of this machine is good and meets the demand. If this factory meets the requirements, it is best to have a large amount of productivity, and it is possible to achieve high productivity.
