The drive shaft is a type of loader working device. It is a device that can push the loader smoothly so that the drive wheel can rotate at different angular speeds. From the function of the drive shaft, we can see that the drive shaft needs to have high hardness, wear resistance and service life. For this reason, we need to quench and heat treat the drive shaft to meet the requirements. The drive shaft has two quenching parts, namely the left flange rod part and the right spline part. Due to the large output, the drive shaft medium frequency induction quenching machine is installed on the production line.

The quenching machine tool is a horizontal double-station and uses a semi-ring sensor to facilitate the entry and exit of workpieces. The main structure of the drive shaft induction hardening production line is two 200kw medium frequency induction heating equipment, two semi-ring inductors, spindle box, tailstock, stepping chain and lifting mechanism.

The two medium-frequency induction heating devices work alternately. The left position heats the flange and rod of the drive shaft, and the right position heats the spline part. The two half-ring inductors allow the drive shaft on the lifting mechanism to enter the inductors without any obstruction. The quenching transformer together with the sensor can be rotated and raised and lowered at an angle. In the lowered position, the sensor just covers the workpiece for heating. In the raised position, the liquid injector targets the heated workpiece for quenching.

The process of medium frequency induction quenching of the drive shaft is as follows: the V-shaped groove of the lifting mechanism holds the drive shaft on the stepper chain in place, the tip of the tailstock moves to tighten the workpiece, the spindle drives the workpiece to rotate, the left transformer is powered on first, and the workpiece is The orchid and rod are heated, and when the specified temperature is reached, the power is cut off, the left transformer rises, and the sprayer on the sensor starts spraying liquid. At the same time, the right transformer starts to turn on the power and heats the spline part. After reaching the specified temperature, the power is cut off, the right transformer rises, and the spline part starts to be quenched. Subsequently, the V-shaped groove of the holding mechanism rises, the tip of the tailstock is released, and the drive shaft drops to the stepping chain along with the V-shaped groove. The stepper chain moves forward one step, the next drive shaft enters the upper position of the V-shaped groove, and the drive shaft rises again, and so on.

The drive shaft on the production line is self-tempered by controlling the injection time. Since the next process requires machining and grinding, after the stepper chain moves four times, the drive shaft is cooled to room temperature for the second time. The actual self-tempering time is about 4×127s=508s.

In the past, we used traditional equipment to perform quenching heat treatment on the drive shaft, but there were always defects of one kind or another. Instead, we used a production line composed of medium frequency induction heating equipment and CNC quenching machine tools to perform induction quenching heat treatment on the drive shaft.
