Bicycles are the most common means of transportation, and their use requires a brisk, safe and comfortable ride. Therefore, the overall structure and parts design of the bicycle are required to have sufficient strength, good rigidity and wear resistance. At the same time, in order to increase the service life, high-frequency induction heating equipment needs to be used to heat treat the bicycle parts. Defect 1. Low hardness. The low hardness of bicycle parts is mainly caused by two reasons.

(1) Because the concentration of C and N is too high, or the temperature during quenching is too high, the stability of austenite increases and the amount of residual austenite after quenching is too much. To address this defect, we should strictly follow the process during quenching to avoid caused this defect.

(2) The quenching medium ages and the cooling capacity decreases. To address this, we use re-quenching or add or replace new quenching medium.

Defect 2. The reasons and measures for deep depth deviation are as follows:

(1) The temperature is too high and the time is too long. We should strictly follow the process operation to ensure that the temperature and time meet the requirements.

(2) The carbon potential of the atmosphere is high, so we have to scrap it.

Defect 3: Deep unevenness. The reasons and measures for this defect are as follows:

(1) The surface of the parts is not clean. We should strengthen the pre-cleaning process to ensure that the surface of the parts is clean.

(2) The furnace temperature distribution is uneven. We should modify the equipment to make the furnace temperature distribution even.

(3) The loading density of parts is too high. When reprinting parts, the loading density of workpieces should be appropriate.

(4) The atmosphere is unevenly distributed and the quenching medium is not stirred enough. For this reason, we should modify the equipment to ensure the furnace temperature, uniformity of the atmosphere, and good stirring flow of the quenching medium.

Defect 4. There are large pieces of hydrocarbons or networks in the permeable layer. The causes of this defect are multi-faceted, including human factors. The specific reasons and measures are as follows:

(1) The carbon potential of the atmosphere is too high and the furnace temperature is too high. We should strictly control the carbon potential and process temperature, and do not let the temperature of the workpiece drop too much before quenching to avoid the occurrence of this defect.

(2) Improper operation. The time interval between co-penetration and cooling is too long. The occurrence of this defect is partly caused by human factors. We should strictly follow the process and conduct diffusion for an appropriate time in an atmosphere with a slightly lower carbon potential. Reduce the size of the carbonitride or heat quench at a slightly higher temperature to eliminate the carbonitride network.

Defect 5: Insufficient deep depth. The causes and prevention measures for this defect are as follows:

(1) The temperature is low and time is insufficient. We should strictly follow the process.

(2)  If the furnace is installed too much, we can only repair and process it.

(3) The carbon potential of the atmosphere is low. We should frequently calibrate various instruments to ensure the accuracy and control accuracy of temperature and carbon potential indications.
