After the measuring tool is heat treated by a high-frequency induction heating machine, what does the heat treatment quality inspection include?

Quality inspection is an activity that observes, measures, and tests one or more quality characteristics of a product, and compares the results with specified quality requirements to determine whether each quality characteristic is qualified or not. Quality inspection is very important, it is a key factor in determining product quality. For products, quality inspection is very important, and for the heat treatment of measuring tools, quality inspection is also very important. Today, the editor will tell you what is included in the heat treatment quality inspection of measuring tools?

Before talking about the heat treatment quality inspection of measuring tools, let us first talk about what measuring tools are. Measuring tool is the abbreviation of physical measuring tool. It is an instrument that has a fixed shape when used and is used to reproduce or provide one or more known values of a given quantity. It needs to withstand huge friction during the working process, so we often use high-frequency induction heating machines for heat treatment.

The heat treatment quality inspection of measuring tools includes two parts before quenching and after quenching and tempering. Many units do not check before quenching, resulting in many quality accidents that should not have occurred. Before quenching, there are four main things to check: whether the material meets the requirements of the drawing data, whether it meets the process route and process requirements specified in the technical data, whether the workpiece is warped and deformed, and whether there are defects on the working surface, such as rust, cracks, bruises, and residual wear. Is the amount reasonable?

The quality inspection of measuring tools after quenching and tempering heat treatment with a high-frequency induction heating machine is as follows:

①Appearance inspection. Use the naked eye or a low-power magnifying glass to observe whether there are pitting, rust spots, ablation, or cracks.

②Deformation inspection. To check the expansion, contraction and warpage of the workpiece size, the required amount of grinding must be ensured. For measuring tools with excessive deformation, it is generally not advisable to use cold straightening. Try to use hot straightening. If hot straightening is ineffective, rework and re-quench.

③Hardness inspection. After the final heat treatment of the measuring tool, its hardness should be checked.

④ Metallographic inspection. Under normal circumstances, metallographic inspection is not carried out. If necessary, inspection can be carried out according to national requirements.
