A brief analysis of the productivity and unit energy consumption of steel plates using medium frequency induction heating machines for induction heating solution treatment

Solution treatment of steel plate is usually carried out by medium frequency induction heating machine. It is said that the effect is particularly good, and it is very energy-saving and environmentally friendly. Is this the case? Today, the editor will briefly tell you about the productivity and unit energy consumption of steel plate induction heating solution treatment. I believe everyone will understand it at a glance.

(1) Productivity of austenitic stainless steel plate induction heating solution treatment When 1Cr18Ni9Ti and 0Cr18Ni10 plates are heated by a 1000Hz medium frequency induction heating machine, the total efficiency of the system can reach 40%. Using 100-140W·cm-2 surface power density for heating, when the solid solution temperature is 1100°C, the heating capacity is 2.1-2.2kg.kW-1. When using a 1000Hz medium frequency induction heating machine, 800kW power, and an efficiency of 40% to heat austenitic stainless steel plates, according to experiments, the productivity is about 700kg.h-1 when the heating power is 800kW and the solution temperature is 1100°C.

(2) Unit energy consumption during solid solution treatment Due to the low electrical efficiency and small heating capacity of austenitic stainless steel induction heating, its unit energy consumption is relatively high, which is a problem that needs to be improved. Under test conditions, the unit energy consumption of 1Cr18Ni9Ti and 0Cr18Ni10 thick plates when solution treated at 1100°C is 1250-1400MJ.t-1 (equivalent to 446-500kW.h·t-1). The specific energy consumption of austenitic stainless steel plates at different solid solution temperatures is listed in the table below.

In short, austenitic stainless steel plates can improve intergranular corrosion and improve mechanical properties through induction heating solution treatment, and should be studied in depth to apply them in production.
