Purpose: Quenching and heating of gear discs, etc. It can also be used for quenching and heating of bevel gears with a pitch cone angle less than 20°.
Design Parameters:
1) The gap a between the inner wall of the induction coil and the parts, for a simple cylinder a=1~33m (can be increased to 5mm in special circumstances)
For gears: different modules m are selected with reference to the following data:
m/mm | a/mm |
1.5-2 | 1.5~2 |
3-3.5 | 2.5-3 |
4-4.5 | 3-3.5 |
5-6 | 4-5 |
2) The height of the induction coil depends on the chamfering conditions at the end of the part:
For parts without chamfers, hi is usually 10%-20% lower than the height of the part. For parts with chamfers, hi can be equal to or slightly higher than the maximum height h of the part height sensing loop, which is related to the part diameter d and is usually not exceed the following values
d/mm | him/mm |
14 | 14 |
50 | 20 |
l00 | 25 |
100-400 | 25~30 |
3) The width of the induction coil bi. For the induction coil bent with pure copper tube (first example) b, the selection should be based on ensuring the cooling water flow. For the induction coil bi bent with pure copper plate, 1~2mm is generally selected.
1) The quenching and cooling of parts can be carried out in the auxiliary spray ring, or immersion cooling can be used.
2) During single-piece or small-batch production, this type of inductor can be used to heat higher explosive parts such as gears. During the heating process, the parts move up and down repeatedly to obtain uniform heating.
3) When used to heat bevel gears with pitch cone angles less than 20°, the big end clearance is generally about 3mm.
4) When heating the small wheel of the multi-link gear, to prevent the end face of the large wheel from being heated, the section of the constant circle can be designed as a triangle.
Purpose: Quenching and heating of gear discs, etc. can also be used for quenching and heating of bevel gears with pitch cone angles less than 20°.
