When using a medium frequency induction melting furnace to smelt aluminum alloys, what are the requirements for flux and process performance for purifying aluminum liquid?

When using a medium frequency induction melting furnace to smelt aluminum alloys, in order to ensure the melting effect, we usually use purifying flux. A good flux for purifying molten metal should have good covering performance, separation performance and purification performance. These process properties are mainly determined by the surface properties of the flux.

(1) Covering performance. The covering performance of the flux can also be called the spreading performance, which refers to the ability of the flux to automatically spread on the metal surface to form a continuous covering layer.

(2) Separation performance. The separation performance of flux is also called slagging performance, which refers to the automatic separation ability of flux and molten metal. The flux has good separation performance to facilitate slag removal and prevent the flux and molten metal from mixing with each other to form flux inclusions.

(3) Purification performance. The purification performance of the flux refers to its ability to remove slag and degassing. Here it mainly refers to its ability to adsorb and dissolve oxidized inclusions in the aluminum liquid.
