What heat treatments can the medium frequency induction heating machine perform on tools?

Tools mostly include cutting tools, measuring tools, fixtures and other tools. The applications of these tools are quite wide. They have to withstand huge friction during work. In order to meet their working performance requirements, we usually use medium frequency induction heating machines for heat treatment to meet their requirements. Today, the technicians from Zhengzhou Gou's will tell us what heat treatment is required for the tools.

1) Annealing. Annealing heat treatment is usually carried out by medium frequency induction heating machine. The purpose of annealing is to improve the machinability and heat treatment process performance of ordinary tools. The annealing of other tools mainly adopts spheroidizing annealing, and the method of cyclic annealing can be used for steels that are not easy to spheroidize to increase the spheroidizing effect.

2) Normalizing. Its purpose is to refine the grains of overheated steel or eliminate the network carbides of hypereutectoid steel. Ordinary tool steel usually has a flaky pearlite structure after normalizing, and generally requires spheroidizing annealing to spheroidize the pearlite.

3) Quenching. Ordinary tool heat treatment is mainly based on induction heating, which is carried out by medium frequency induction heating machine. Tools should be preheated before quenching and heating, especially tools with complex shapes or large sizes, and tools made of high-alloy steel. Preheating must be done carefully.

4) Tempering. Most of the tools are tempered at low temperature by medium frequency induction heating machine. Ordinary tools are generally tempered only once; tools made of high-alloy steel mostly need to be tempered twice due to the large amount of retained austenite.

5) Stress relief annealing. It is mainly used to eliminate work hardening caused by cold plastic deformation or eliminate internal stress caused by cutting.

6) Conditioning. Quenching and tempering can result in a lower surface roughness after processing of the workpiece, refine the structure of the steel before quenching, reduce the deformation of the final heat treatment, and obtain high and uniform quenching hardness.

Zhengzhou Gou's is a manufacturer specializing in the production and sales of induction heating equipment, and has a good understanding of the heat treatment of workpieces. This article only briefly introduces the heat treatment required for tools.
