When wire rods, wires, plates, etc. are heat treated, an important basis for us to choose heating equipment is the unit energy consumption during heat treatment of the workpiece. The lower the unit energy consumption, the better. Today, the editor will tell you about the unit energy consumption of heat treatment using medium frequency induction heating power supply.
There are very few reports on unit energy consumption data during induction heating rapid heat treatment of wire rods, wires, plates, etc. A small amount of data is introduced below for reference.
(1)Unit energy consumption during annealing of wire rod medium frequency induction heating power supply. The unit energy consumption of annealing carbon steel and tool steel discs using medium frequency induction heating power is described below.
①Unit energy consumption of carbon steel wire rod. Large coils with a diameter of 18mm are heated to 720-740°C using a medium frequency induction heating power supply. After being kept warm for 30-40 minutes, the furnace is cooled to 680°C and air-cooled. The unit energy consumption of this annealing treatment is 936MJ. t-1. Under the same annealing process conditions, the unit energy consumption during annealing in a well-type resistance furnace is 1602MJ·t-1. Comparing the two heating methods, induction heating saves about 40% more energy than resistance furnace heating.
②Unit energy consumption of carbon tool steel T10A wire rod. When a coil with a diameter of 5-10mm is heated to 720-740°C using a medium-frequency induction heating power supply and kept for 40 hours for spheroidization, the unit energy consumption is 1260-1440MJ.t-1, with an average of 1350MJ·t-1. Under the same conditions, the unit energy consumption during spheroidization treatment in a well-type resistance furnace is 2500-3000MJ.t-1, with an average of 2750MJ.t-1. Comparing the two heating methods, induction heating saves about 50% more energy than resistance furnace heating.
(2)Unit energy consumption during induction heating solution treatment of austenitic stainless steel plates and strips
The unit energy consumption of solid solution treatment of 1Cr18Ni9Ti stainless steel thick plates and thin strips is described as follows.
①Unit energy consumption of stainless steel thick plates. A thick 1Cr18Ni9Ti steel plate with a thickness of 20-30mm is induction heated to 1050-1100°C by a medium-frequency induction heating power supply. It is then water-sprayed and cooled by solution treatment without insulation. The unit energy consumption is 1250-1460MJ.tsup>-1. The unit energy consumption of an austenitic stainless steel middle plate of similar steel grade during solution treatment in a gas-fired roller hearth furnace is approximately 2166MJ.t-1. Compared with the two solid solution methods, induction heating solution treatment can save a lot of energy.
②Unit energy consumption during transverse magnetic field heating solution treatment of austenitic stainless steel strip. A 1Cr18Ni9Ti stainless steel strip with a width of 220mm In a resistance furnace heated by silicon carbon rods, the unit energy consumption during continuous solution treatment at 1050°C is 3790MJ.t-1. The unit energy consumption of the two heating methods for solution treatment differs by 2530MJ.t-1. Induction heating saves more than 65% of energy than resistance furnace heating for solution treatment.
To sum up, the unit energy consumption of using medium frequency induction heating power for heat treatment of wire rods, wires, steel, etc. is far lower than that of traditional heat treatment equipment. Therefore, the use of medium frequency induction heating power for heat treatment has become an irresistible trend. , we should vigorously promote it.
