Although the effective hardening layer depth of high-frequency quenching equipment is 1mm, it is aimed at optical shaft parts. For gear parts, when the current frequency is too high, the tooth top temperature is high and the tooth root temperature is low, making it difficult to obtain a hardened layer distributed along the tooth profile. It is theoretically feasible to use an 8000Hz medium-frequency induction heating unit to perform medium-frequency quenching of the main clutch shaft, and it can also meet the technical requirements of a layer depth of 1-2mm. However, the main clutch shaft part is hollow and thin-walled and has splines at both ends, so it is easy to heat through and be quenched during the heating process. During induction quenching, the surface of the part is in a high-temperature distribution state. The heat is transferred not only by the surrounding cooling medium, but also by conduction to the unheated inner layer and core. Therefore, the cooling rate is faster. At the same time, the wall thickness of the thin end of the part is about 3.16mm. Under the action of heat conduction, it can easily penetrate heat and be quenched. Since this part is hollow and thin-walled, it is difficult to achieve the technical requirement of a hardened layer depth of 1 to 2 mm by only using an 8000Hz intermediate frequency quenching unit to perform intermediate frequency quenching on the main clutch shaft. For this reason, problems that cannot be solved by the equipment and parts themselves can only be solved from the perspective of technology.
