Short bar blanks refer to hypoeutectoid carbon steel and low alloy steel materials with a diameter of 30-60mm and a length of less than 2.5m. Short bar blanks are practical blanks for machinery manufacturing plants to process shafts, piston rods, hydraulic steel columns, etc. Usually this kind of billet is quenched and tempered in a resistance heating furnace or a fuel heating furnace. Traditional heating has shortcomings such as high unit energy consumption, large processing margin, uneven hardness, and unstable product quality. Medium-frequency induction heating furnaces are used. Carrying out quenching and tempering heat treatment can significantly improve the above problems and obtain stable product quality.

Loaders and excavators in construction machinery use a large number of shaft parts such as transmission shafts, piston rods and tank columns. Most of these parts require quenching and tempering before processing. Zhengzhou Gao's Electromagnetic Induction Heating Equipment Co., Ltd. has researched and designed a series of induction heating and tempering production lines for steel billets for shafts based on market demand. First, one of the induction heating and tempering production lines for piston rod blanks with a diameter of 30-60MM is selected and introduced as follows. :

The production line consists of a loading table, a pinch feeding roller, a quenching and heating sensor, a sub-roller quencher, a tempering heating sensor, and a blanking stand. Auxiliary equipment includes induction heating power supply, mechanical and transmission mechanisms, electrical control systems, water cooling systems, etc. The following are the functions and characteristics of the main components.

1) The quenching inductor of the intermediate frequency induction heating furnace is powered by an intermediate frequency induction heating furnace with a power of 350KW and a frequency of 1000HZ. The tempering inductor is powered by an induction heating power supply with a power of 250KW and a frequency of 1000HZ. The maximum length of medium frequency induction heating is 1800mm, the minimum length is 400mm, the maximum quenching temperature is 1000℃, and the maximum heating temperature is 750℃.

2) Conveying and advancing of blanks. After the billet is hoisted to the loading stand, it is transported by rollers to achieve continuous quenching and heating of the billet, continuous spray quenching and cooling, and continuous tempering and heating until it is transported to the unloading stand for cooling. In order to ensure uniform heating and cooling of the billet , and the rotation speed can be adjusted, and the rotation of the blank can ensure the requirements of low hardness uniformity and straightness after quenching and tempering.

3) Temperature measurement and control. The quenching and tempering heating temperatures are measured using a monochromatic far-infrared thermometer. According to the conversion signal between the quenching temperature and the tempering temperature, and after comparing the fixed values of the PLC equipment, the power supply system is instructed to adjust the heating power to achieve closed-loop control of the power temperature. , Heating temperature control accuracy is ±10%.

4) System control of operations. The conveying speed of the blank, heating temperature, heating power, etc. are all automatically controlled by PLC. The quenching and tempering process parameters, mechanical operating parameters, etc. are stored and printed. The system can also process metallographic parameters such as process parameters and run automatically according to the set regulations, or it can also be operated manually.
