Process analysis of the quenching and tempering heat treatment of the outer tube of the corer using an ultrasonic induction heating machine

The outer tube of the corer is made of 40Mn2MoVNb steel, which requires quenching and tempering within 200mm of both ends, with a hardness of 260-300HBS.

Quenching and tempering can be carried out using an ultrasonic induction heating machine. A multi-turn inductor is used on the horizontal quenching machine to heat the 200mm range at both ends of the outer tube of the corer to 870°C. The outer wall is cooled by oil injection at the same time, with a hardness of over 50HRC, and then tempered to a temperature of 670-690°C. After tempering, it is air-cooled.

The electrical parameters of super audio frequency induction quenching are: screen voltage llkV, tank voltage 10kV, screen current 8A, gate current 2A.

Operation points: Use intermittent heating (power outage twice in the middle), the total heating time is about 70 seconds. The workpiece rotation speed is 80-150r/min, and the heating temperature is controlled at 860-900°C.
