A turning tool is a tool that is used for turning processing and has a cutting part. During the working process, the part that is often used for cutting needs to withstand huge friction and wear relatively quickly. For this reason, many manufacturers now use High-frequency induction heating equipment performs quenching heat treatment on turning tools in order to improve the hardness, wear resistance and service life of turning tools. Today, the editor will take Co5Si steel turning tools as an example to introduce to you its high-frequency heat treatment process.
Co5Sii is a high-performance high-speed steel that is mainly used to process metal materials such as ultra-high-strength steel, cast high-temperature alloys, and iron-based high-temperature alloys. After proper heat treatment, the hardness can reach 69-70HRC, and its cutting performance is equivalent to M42. The main chemical composition of Co5Si steel is shown in the table below.
C | W | Mo | Cr | V | Co | Si | Carbon saturation |
1.30-1.40 |
11.5-13.50 | 2.80-3.40 | 2.80-3.40 | 2.80-3.40 | 4.70-5.10 | 0.80-1.20 | 0.95 |
The 16mmx16mm×200mmCo5Si turning tool bar uses high-frequency induction heating equipment for heat treatment. The specific process is: heating at 1220-1230°C, graded cooling in a neutral salt bath at 620°C, the first tempering temperature is 580°C, and the last two times are at 550°C, and the hardness is 66.5-67HRC. After heat treatment using this process, the life of the turning tool is greatly improved.
