The advantage of this technology is that the shielding effect of the step is weakened, the induced current can be obtained at a certain depth at the root of the step, and the surface heating zone is continuous, thereby making the hardening zone continuous. For parts with large cross-section changes, the design of the inductor needs to be further improved. On the basis of the rectangular inductor, a circular effective ring dedicated to heating the root of the step is added, and a magnetic conductor is installed. This technology is a development of transverse magnetic field heating technology. It was developed in the 1990s and has been applied in the heat treatment of large step shafts.
