The roll is an important part of the rolling mill in the rolling mill. It uses the pressure generated by a pair or a group of rolls to roll and roll the steel. It is mainly subjected to dynamic and static loads, wear and temperature changes during rolling. It can be seen that the working environment of the roll is quite harsh. It generally requires high hardness, wear resistance and service life, so the roll needs to be quenched and heat treated to meet its requirements. Now, many manufacturers are using medium-frequency induction heating machines to quench and heat-treat the rolls.
At present, induction heating and quenching methods are commonly used for cold rolls, such as the overall induction heating and quenching method and the double-inductor progressive quenching method. For cold rolled rolls, especially cold rolled work rolls with slender roll bodies, the dual-inductor progressive quenching method represented by dual-frequency quenching tends to be used. The intermediate frequency induction heating machine generally has the effect of quenching and quenching on the roll at a depth of 3-6mm. It has the advantages of fast heating speed, uniform heating temperature, and no oxide layer. More importantly, steel wires, steel rods, and steel strands of various specifications can be used. It is used for heat treatment and has a wide range of applications.
