What is induction brazing?

Brazing is a material joining process that uses a filler metal, usually an oxidation-resistant solvent called flux, to join two closely fitting pieces of metal without melting the base materials. Instead, induction heat melts the filler and then wicks it into the substrate.

What is the benefit?

Induction brazing can join a wide variety of metals, even ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Induction brazing is precise and fast. Only narrow areas are heated, adjacent areas and materials are not affected. Properly brazed joints are strong, leak-proof and corrosion-resistant. They are also very neat and usually require no further milling, grinding or finishing. Induction brazing is ideally suited for integration into production lines.

Where is induction brazing used?

Brazing systems can be used for almost any brazing task. To date, our systems are commonly used in the electrical industry to braze generator and transformer components such as wires, SC rings, rods, strands. They also braze air conditioning and brake components, and fuel lines for the automotive industry. Aviation uses induction to braze fan blades, casing blades, and fuel and hydraulic systems. In the housewares industry, our systems braze compressor components, heating elements and water-tap.
